1 Corinthians 1:30-31 KJB | Bible Study

1 Corinthians 1:30 KJB

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

All believers are IN Christ. As we read and study God's word rightly divided, believe it and yeild ourselves over to obey it, we walk in wisdom and righteousness and from the very moment that we simply believe the gospel we are also sanctified [set apart for God] and redeemed.

1 Corinthians 1:31

31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Everything that we do as believers should be about bringing glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. The only way that can happen is by us allowing Christ to live in and through us as believers.

Often today in Christendom you will hear people praise God or say "all glory to God!", however they are usually not walking in the will of the Lord. They will say this only about things pertaining to the flesh, like if they get a new house, or have an illness go into remission etc. But God is focused today on our inner man, not on giving us physical blessings (the health and wealth gospel is a false gospel). You will rarely hear believers say, "All Glory to God!" whenever someone learns sound grace doctrine and is walking in it! In fact, if anything, they will actually be hateful towards Bible believing Christians. Only mature saints would praise God about these matters.

Jeremiah 9:24 in the KJB says, “But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me.” God wants men to know and understand Him (this is true in all dispensations). 1 Timothy 2:4 says, "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." In order to understand and know God, we must first believe Him and then we must also exalt Him and His word rightly divided. You do not "get to know God" by just attending a church once a week or on holidays, or by only praying to him to save your flesh whenever you are in trouble. We get to know Him by believing the gospel, and then reading and studying His word rightly divided on a regular basis (daily if possible). This brings God glory because then He can live in and through you.
