Gods Will for Women | Biblical Womanhood and Homemaking Encouragement

Ephesians 5:17 - Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

What is God's will for women? First of all, God's will for ALL people is that they be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2 verse 4in the KJB says, "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." This eliminates calvinist doctrine. God wants all people to be saved but of course each person has a free will and must choose for themselves whether or not to believe the gospel. If they do believe, then God wants them to also come to the knowledge of the truth, which is understanding God's word rightly divided. This means understanding that God is offering grace and peace to all people who will believe the gospel today, and he is not pouring out his wrath today, and he is now forming the "one new man", the Church the Body of Christ, to fill the heavenly places. If you have never heard this before, you have not yet come unto the knowledge of the truth. So, I recommend first and foremost that as a believer you learn about Midacts Rightly Divided Dispensational Bible study. And of course you must be saved first, and people today are saved by grace through faith alone without the works of the law. You must recognize that you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself. Then, simply believe how that Christ Jesus died for your sins, was buried and rose again for your justification. Once you have believed that gospel, you now have eternal life in Christ Jesus. To begin to understand your new life in Christ, start by reading and studying the book of Romans which is foundational doctrine for the believer today.

So, God wants women saved and then to mature spiritually through the word. He also specifically says that young women are to "marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully." (1 Tim 5:14). Some women might have the gift of celibacy, which means that they would be able to remain single and not marry and spend their life teaching others God's word and ministering to fellow saints, but this is a rare thing. Most people burn with sexual desire if they are unmarried, especially in todays culture, and so for most young women it is best to marry. Then, once they are married, they should have children or even adopt children if they cannot have them naturally, and spend their time studying God's Word, raising their children, being a keeper at home and then as their children get older and as they have matured more in the word, they can teach other women sound grace doctrine. So, the older women, and those more mature spiritually in the word, are to "teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." (Titus 2:4-5) If the women in your life do not care for God and His word, you can teach them through your chaste and holy lifestyle, and you could teach women God's word online through blogs, social media or YouTube.

God also wants women to be keepers at home. The word "at" in Tim 2:5 in the KJB really says a lot here in this verse. How can you keep your home if you are not AT home? I understand that in some cases, a woman has to work outside of the home, but I believe that it is best for a woman to be at home when possible instead of trying to maintain a career outside of the home. Our lives as believers should NOT be about "following our hearts" or the almighty dollar, whether you are a man or a woman. Men are to be the providers, but that doesn't mean that they have to be overly focused on careers and the "almighty dollar" either. They just need to make enough to provide for their families and then spend the rest of their free time with their families (especially in teaching the children Gods word and having some Bible study time with his wife) and preaching the gospel to the lost, having fellowship with fellow believers, and in teaching God's word rightly divided to those weaker in the faith.

As Christian wives its also God's will for you to submit to your own husband. Ephesians 5:22-24 says, "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing." This does not mean husbands can abuse their wives or any such thing. Please see my recent study on Biblical Submission.

Women are also to be modest in behavior and dress, and to adorn the doctrine. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works."

Women are also NOT to be pastors of the local assembly. They can teach their own children, other children and other women, but they are not to be a pastor of a local church assembly. 1 Timothy 2: 11-16 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." You can also see my study called "Should womens teach God's word" for a more detailed Bible study on this topic.

Believers in general, both men and women are also to:
• Rightly Divide the word of truth.
• Be established in sound grace doctrine which means studying the book of Romans first, and then to build an edifice of sound grace doctrine in your inner man by studying all of the Pauline epistles and then the whole Bible rightly divided.
• Keep our minds renewed daily if possible with God's word rightly divided.
• Mark and avoid false teachings and teachers. This basically means to keep in mind who teaches things falsely and just avoid them.
• Live out the grace life, which means allowing Christ and His word to live in and through you as a believer (walk in the Spirit).  This can only be done by reading, studying, meditating upon, believing and then obeying God's word rightly divided.
• Abstain from fornication and live a clean, sober, chaste, and holy lifestyle.
• Be thankful in all things.
• Share the gospel with others and teach sound grace doctrine. For women specifically, we do this with our own children and families first.
• Pray without ceasing.
• Do our best to live peaceably with others.
• Love and forgive others.
• Give others grace, especially those who are weaker in the faith.

And many other things taught to us in the Pauline epistles. Even studying the whole Bible rightly divided helps us in understanding God's will.
