Homemaking is Important to God | Biblical Womanhood Bible Study

Homemaking is very important to God. God actually speaks about women being homemakers in scripture. Let's look at some verses.

Titus 2:5
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Proverbs 14:1 - Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

Proverbs 31
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

1 Timothy 5:14 - I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

Our lives as believers should not be all about worldly achievements and ambitions (men or women).

When we are saved, the reason why God doesn't just take us up to heaven immediately is so that we can remain here a little while to:
1) Give the gospel to others. This would include our own children and teaching our children Gods word rightly divided. It's then up to them to decide for themselves whether or not to believe the gospel. We can also of course share the gospel with others outside of our immediate family.
2) Read, study and believe God's word rightly divided - being edified in sound grace doctrine and earning rewards for heaven by allowing Christ to live in and through us.
4) Help fellow believers to be properly established and edified in sound grace doctrine so that they too will earn rewards for heaven, which brings glory to God.
5) Educating the angels. The angels are actually learning from us about the "manifold wisdom of God" as they observe Christ Jesus living in and through us as believers (see Ephesians 3:10).

That being said, if we are spending most of our time purely on worldly ambitions, who will then teach our children about God and His word?

Sometimes a woman needs to work outside of the home, but "needs" are different from mere "wants." We need to be mature saints and decide what is the best and most edifying things to do for our families and for the "work of the ministry."

All of that being said, homemaking can be such a wonderful thing. Even if you can't be home full-time, you can still be a homemaker. Children need a safe, comfortable, healthy, clean, neat, loving and nurturing environment. They also greatly need parents who are believers that teach them the word of God and who are good examples of godly living.
