The Truth about Jesus and the Angels

If you have been saved and have left the newage, then you already understand now that Jesus is God. In the newage, Jesus is considered to be an "ascended master", no different than Buddha or the angels in heaven. They reject the fact that Jesus is God. In fact, this statement angers and offends them because they don't want to acknowledge that they are sinners, deserving of wrath and that Jesus is our Saviour and He is Lord of all.

Marianne Williamson, [who is a Newage author and a Democrat politician running a second time for the Presidency in the United States of America] has said this about Jesus, basically summarizing what most newagers believe about Jesus:

"“Jesus was a human being who while on earth completely self-actualized and fulfilled in all ways the potential glory that lies within us all. He became one with the Essence and Christ Spirit that is in all of us..To say there is “only one begotten son” doesn’t mean that someone else was it, and we’re not. It means we’re all it. There’s only one of us here…Jesus actualized the Christ mind, and was then given the power to help the rest of us reach that place within ourselves.  He was sent down by God – as we all are.”

“‘Accepting the Christ’ is merely a shift in self-perception…Even if he takes another name, even if he takes another face, he is, in essence, the truth of who we are.” – A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, pg. 32"

But, shes COMPLETELY WRONG. The Lord Jesus Christ created all things, and he is also our Saviour. Man did not create all things and we cannot save ourselves. God himself literally had to come to earth and die for our sins in order to save us. The preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing! But for believers it is the power of God unto salvation. Are people really going to believe something taught by a narcissistic woman rather than believe God and His word? Sadly, yes, many would rather believe her and other similar teachers!

Colossians 1:16-17

16 For by him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

1 Corinthians 1:18

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

John 1: 1-3

1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Romans 1:18-25

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Jesus will also judge all people!

Romans 2:16

“In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”

2 Timothy 4:1

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;”

Matthew 25:31-32

31 When the Son of man [the Lord Jesus Christ] shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: [speaking about his second coming; a part of Israel's prophetic program]

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

God is also a triune Godhead. There is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost and they are all three persons in one Godhead. As you read and study the Bible, you will come to know God more and more.

Colossians 2:9

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Romans 1:20

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

John 10:30

I and my Father are one. 

Because angels are such a big thing in the newage teachings, and even much of Christendom doesn't always have the correct understanding about angels, I thought I would briefly talk about them too. 

An ex-newage author had started a major trend of people worshipping angels in the 1990s and it continues on to this day (even though the person has renounced their past teachings). This angel cult included workshops, courses, books, videos, meditations, prayers, oracle and tarot decks and taught people not only to worship angels, but that some people were "incarnated angels" (or fairies, mermaids, unicorns, star people, etc) themselves. There were many other elements to these cult teachings but they were all totally dillusional, narcissistic and even demonic teachings. It also promoted toxic positivity, spiritual bypassing, and other spiritually dangerous and psychologically damaging teachings. I was one of the people that was seduced by these teachings [and really it was Satan's work] and taught some similar things as a newager many years ago and I still have some religious trauma from this that the Lord is helping me to heal from. Many other newage authors today are teaching similar things and their teachings just get more outlandish all of the time!

The truth about angels is that they were created by the Lord Jesus Christ. 

“Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; [talking about the Lord Jesus Christ] thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host [angels and other Heavenly creatures], the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven [angelic and other Heavenly creatures] worshippeth thee” (Neh. 9:6).

The book of Hebrews teaches that Christ has obtained a more excellent name than the angels.

Hebrews 1:4

“Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”

Phil 2:9

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Also, only two angels are mentioned by name in scripture, Michael and Gabriel. Newagers have countless names of "angels" but they are not biblical. Angels are also always men in the Bible, not women. There are also different kinds of heavenly creatures other than the angels.

Lucifer (Satan) was a cherub, not an angel (Ezek. 28:14). He led many angels to follow after him (they are often called devils in the King James Bible). These rebellious creatures will all be thrown into the lake of fire in the future. There are also seraphim in the Bible.

Ezekiel 28:12-19

"12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Matthew 25:41

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Revelation 12:7-12 

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Rebellious angels may have mated with human women who then bore giants during the days of Noah (Genesis 6). This may have been Satan's attempt to corrupt the seedline so that the Messiah would not be born. 

Genesis 6:1-4 

1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God [angels] saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God [angels] came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Paul warned against the worship of angels in Col. 2:18. We are NOT to pray to or worship angels! He even tells us that people who claim to have seen an angel today, were imagining it!

Col 2:18 KJB

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

In the dispensation of grace, the believers are actually teaching angels as they observe our lives during an un-prophesied time called the dispensation of the grace of God (Eph. 3:10). Most of Christendom is completely ignorant of this fact.

Ephesians 3:10

"To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,:"

So, to summarize, the newage teachings about Jesus and the Angels are completely false and even dillusional. People make a lot of money teaching others these feel good messages, which are just lies.

False teachers are just trying to make money and sometimes also to have power over you.

Romans 16:18

“For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

The fact is that people lie, but God NEVER lies. You can trust Him and His word rightly divided.
